MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF SUPERSTRUCTURAL COORDINATION COMPLEXES OF FULLERENE C60 WITH IRON AND NIKEL ATOMS R.O. Kochkanyan1, M.M. Nechitaylov1, V.V. Chabanenko2, S.V. Vasiliev2, A.N. Zaritovskiy1 1L. M. Litvinenko Institute of Physical Organic and Coal Chemistry of the National Academy

e-mail: mm_nech@mail.ru Temperature and field dependences of magnetization of exohedral Fe,Ni-containing metallofullerenes are studied. The magnetic properties of compounds are determined by the presence of uncoupled electrons originating from joint coordination of Fe and Ni atoms with pentagonal faces of fullerene polyhedrons. The value of the magnetic moment depends on the ratio and the content of metals within the complex. The magnetic moments of formula units calculated on the base of the content are in good agreement with the measured ones and confirm the structure of metallofullerenes suggested earlier. Key words: magnetic properties, relations between structure and magnetic properties, fullerenes, metallofullerenes, π-complexes of iron and nickel, organo-metallic compounds, coordination compounds. |
